calm...

a sense of calm after the frenzy of the last few months, I found a quiet spot on the beach just a little way up from the excited squeals of squishy toddler nudie runs...
enjoying unseasonally warm winter weather, with almost a week of perfect sunshine its doing wonderful things for everyone's mood...
Strangely, with this calmness is a niggling sense of unease hovering in the background, nightly discussions of schoolyard tension, hubby thinking of career change, the littlest guy growing up way too quick, the very thought of him at school next year blows my mind & makes me sad.
For now though, I am going to enjoy these calm easy breezy days and re-energise for the next crazy ride.  It's inevitable isn't it, this roller coaster of life...

  1. Gorgeous beach! How nice is it at the moment to sit in the sunshine - a magazine and a coffee not far away. Enjoy.

  2. You're right about that rollercoaster - hold on woman! Occasionally I find myself daydreaming of a long stretch of coasting along on a flat bit of road. Yeah, well...

  3. Enjoy the sunshine and the quiet while you can because as you know it doesn't stay that way for very long! Nothing like sitting on the beach on a warm day is there?

  4. Oh re-energise, that is the word i'm looking for!! I often get a mid term slump of energy.
Hey, i got the latest Frankie too, the girl on the cover doesn't look very happy does she?? Cheer up honey, you're on the cover of sheer sweetness.
As for the sunshine, oh i could have stretched out on the grass outside school this afternoon & slide off to sleep - until my children did the tradition kiss-&-chuck-school-bags-at-mum to wake me up. Love Posie

  5. " upside down, inside out an round and round" life goes... sometimes it makes us sad, sometimes happy, sometimes it's comforting! C'est la vie!

Great looking beach day, wishing you many more ;)

  6. It sometimes seems to me that predictability is basically gone in the kind of life we lead these days..no more career paths that last a lifetime..but on the other hand it used to be pretty boring too! I love the way your crochet colours just fit right into the scenery..very colour coordinated.

  8. Glad you're enjoying some calm time, I know what you mean about niggling little things hovering at the back of your mind, try to clear them away and focus on the good things, that's what I TRY to do :-)

  10. You are so right. Thanks for sharing those lovely beachy shots, it was just what I needed. Us mums sure do need to find those moments of calm as we steer our family boats across the bumpy seas. Hope the school stuff settles down, it usually does. Take care beautiful xo

  11. Those bumpy bits are tough but they find us whereever we are. Even on a road trip in the middle of nowhere. I think all we can do is what you did. Find a peaceful spot, breathe, regroup and deal with it.
I hope it all blows over soon and you can enjoy the sunshine and the calm.

  13. Those roller coasters make us who we are, and when the ride is over it's nice to enjoy a beautiful spot like you are.....until the next ride.
